THE DEATH OF JESUS
A) THE IMPORTANCE OF THE DEATH OF JESUS CHRIST
The death of Jesus Christ is mentioned over 175 times in the New Testament. The Old Testament also contains numerous references prophetic of his death. a) "Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, too, in a similar way participated in, to be crushed by his death one who had the power of death, that is to the devil ... "Hebrews 2: 14 The death of Jesus Christ was not coincidental. It was the supreme goal of life. He became man in order to die as a man and man (Matthew 20: 28).
B) THE PURPOSE OF THE DEAD
Isaiah 53: 5, Isaiah 53: 8-12, 1 Peter 3: 18, Romans 4: 25, 1 Corinthians 15: 3; 1 Peter 2: 24. Jesus Christ died to erase the sins of Man. It is the sin of others that made his death necessary. Jesus Christ has replaced us: it just that deserved to live, died in the place of unjust men who deserved to die. Jesus Christ gave his life a ransom. By his death the price has been paid to redeem men from death (Isaiah 53: 10). Jesus Christ was offered ablation. Through his death, was granted forgiveness to sinners (Hebrews 9: 22, 9: 29, 1 John 4: 10, Romans 3: 25). Jesus Christ was intended by God to be a propitiation by his blood. By the shedding of his blood for us sinners, we obtain the redemption,. The sinner must suffer the consequences of his sin. Jesus Christ has replaced us in dying on the cross. He redeemed us from the curse of the law, paying himself the curse (Galatians 3: 10-13). Jesus Christ by his death has become our redeemer. His shed blood, we avoided any punishment from God reserved for unrepentant sinners (1 Corinthians 5: 7, Exodus 12: 13-23). Jesus Christ died to redeem those under law, so that we can be adopted as son of God. The death of Jesus Christ is the foundation upon which men may be issued to the requirements of the law and become a son of God by faith. (Colossians 2: 14-15, Galatians 4: 4-5). We were slaves of this world of sin and the law. By the death of Jesus Christ we have been freed to become citizens of heaven. (Philippians 3: 20). Jesus Christ died to bring us to God. His death cleared the impassable gulf between God for sinful man (Matthew 27: 50-51, Hebrews 10: 19-20, Hebrews 9: 1-10). Jesus Christ died to bear much fruit. Of his death has sprouted a new breed of new son of God. (John 12: 24).
C) for whom Christ died?
a. Jesus Christ died for us is to say those who believe in him.
b. Jesus Christ died for the church which is his wife (Ephesians 5: 25-27).
c. Jesus Christ died for every individual believer, not just for the church as the Body, but for each individual of this body. Every believer can say, "He loved me and gave Himself for me." (Galatians 2: 20).
d. Jesus Christ died for the world (John 1: 29). The debt of sin of all men has been paid. All men are forgiven in principle, all they have to do is accept by faith that forgiveness and take possession. By the death of Jesus Christ, the separation between Jews and "pagan" no longer exists. It is the law that separates the Jewish kind. Jesus abolished in his flesh the law and now in Jesus Christ there is neither Jew nor Greek (...) but all are one in Christ Jesus (Galatians 3: 28). His blood is the bond which unites all nations in one (Colossians 1: 20-22, Ephesians 1: 7). By the blood of Jesus, believers have redemption, the forgiveness of their sins. Forgiveness is not something that believers have to acquire. This is something that the blood have acquired and that the faith must take ownership (1 John 1: 7; Leviticus 16: 30, Leviticus 17: 11; Apocalypse 1: 5-6; Apocalypse 7: 14, Hebrews 9 : 23, Ephesians 1: 7; Romans 5: 9, Matthew 26: 28).
Through blood or blood of Jesus Christ, believers are justified (2 Corinthians 5: 21, Romans 8: 33-34). Believers are no longer condemned because Jesus Christ paid the price (Romans 8: 1-3, 1 Corinthians 6: 20).
We belong to God nor the devil, neither the world nor ourselves have no right over us (1 Peter 2: 9). His blood has sanctified us (Heb. 10: 14). Christ's death was the death / end of the power of Satan. He can not use the power of death over those who were given the benefit of the death of Christ (Colossians 2: 14-15, Hebrews 2: 14).
